Paolo Martinez: aged 44, with a degree in Geography and Sociology from Oxford Polytechnic, he worked for four years in the marine construction and offshore plant engineering industry and for 15 years in creativity and participation applied to the management of innovation, technology transfer and regional development. In his capacity as a process architect and innovation pilot, through the implementation of participative and futurisation techniques and methods, he has been coordinating and managing projects in Italy and overseas on behalf of public and private clients. The main sectors are: design management, ICTs, management consulting, governance and policy making, knowledge society, intellectual capital, regional marketing, strategic plans, cultural assets, employment strategies, consultation, collaborative working environments.
For years he has been researching, writing and lecturing on innovation, participation, fast-prototyping and creativity, in collaboration with Universities and national and international research centres.
Alessandra Modi: aged 44, with a degree in German studies from Florence, she performs activities relating to training, regional tourism planning, humanistic education through companies and not-for-profit associations founded by her. For ten years she has been an advisor on participation in the municipalities of Borgo San Lorenzo, San Piero a Sieve and in the Mountain Community of Mugello with roles in transport, lifelong learning, active employment policies, production activities. An expert on the Council of Europe since 1996, she oversees programmes for the dissemination of European charters in the local autonomies in democratising countries.
